As a volunteer coach for an elementary track team and basketball team, I see the benefits of children adding extra fitness plans into their day - or at least knowing how to add in exercises while playing.
This workout combines playground activities, creative workouts in the yard using cones to run around, and actual workouts I do with my track team and speed and agility clinics.
This workout focuses on a goal of passing the President's Physical Fitness Standards in pullups, pushups, situps, shuttle runs, and 1 mile timed run. Working up to these standards can be fun, challenging, and a great way to spend time with your kids. You and your child can rank yourselves with the Fitness Charts provided by the Council.
